Musicians profiles
Colourful
Jan is not only an AAA’s French course student but also a professional musician. He took guitar lessons (blues) for a few years in his adolescence, and he studied himself composition and production of music. Music is what keeps him going, that’s why he continues his music career for all his life.
The first two musician groups which he played focused on alternative rock, but since he quitted his hometown and moved to Berlin, he grafted electronic music onto alternative rock to enrich his music career.
Ramhon (Choe Jeong-U)
Ramhon is not a teacher of AAA language school’s korean class but a literary critic, a composer, a performer, a philosopher, an aesthetician, a writer, a translator and a guitarist and vocalist.
He formed his own experimental trio rock band « Renata Suicide » in Seoul in 2002, and their first album will be released this year in South Korea as the fruits of 16 years of the band’s music career. He has been working as a theater and contemporary dance music composer for more than 15 years, and he also composed music for LEE Chang-dong’s movie « Poetry » (2010).
In his childhood, he was strongly influenced by the music of Richard Wagner, Igor Stravinsky, György Ligeti, David Bowie and Led Zeppelin.
His first book «The musical score of Thought» (published in 2011) is an essay that crossbreeds between literary and performative characters in philosophy and music.
