Interview with Nicolas ABGRALL, Head of pedagogics at AAA
We’ve continued our series of interviews with Nicolas ABGRALL, who is a French teacher and who has recently become Head of pedagogics at AAA. He answered our surprising questions on his own life.
LM : What if there hadn’t been FLE classes in your life?
NA : I can’t really imagine … I’d probably have become a rugby coach … But FLE is still half of my life, so I can’t see myself without it.
LM : Were you a dunce or a good student?
NA : Average, you could read on my transcripts “he has the capacity but don’t use it” or “he has nothing to do” or even “you’ll be able to graduate from high school, but it’s a mess” … Regardless of the notes, the important thing is to learn one thing each day.
LM : Your nickname?
NA : Schultz. It comes from the TV series, a tall and chubby one with a mustache. And of course, Nicole AVRIL (popstar).
LM : The best advice you’ve been given?
NA : “Stay calm and it will be fine”
LM : Describe yourself in three words?
NA : Optimistic, greedy and happy.
LM : The last to corrects the copies among our teachers?
NA : For the daily copies, me … But, for the tests, I’m always the first.
LM : Who makes fun of others most?
NA : Lucie.
LM : The one being laughed at most?
NA : Pascal.
LM : The most serious one?
NA : Malika and Marie, I think.
LM : Who is “the darling” of the head of pedagogics?
NA : I change my “favorite” every week, like that, no jealousy. (But still Pascal!).
LM : Your main fault?
NA : Irascible, especially in the morning.
LM : Small pleasure but a bit shameful?
NA : When my dog licks me, it’s not always very clean!
LM : What makes you laugh ?
NA : Everything.
LM : How are you on your vacation?
NA : If it’s with my wife, I’m a driver (I love to drive) and photographer. If it’s with my friends, no driver that’s for sure!
LM : Your dream when you were a kid?
NA : To become a rugby coach, before I broke my knee 🙁
LM : Regret in your life?
NA : No, I’m very lucky. I always see the positive side, a half-full glass if you want!
LM : With who would you like to exchange your life for a day?
NA : With Tom Brady or Chris Martin.
LM : What is the biggest love-killer?
NA : The dog!
LM : The personal object that is most important to you?
NA : My wife offered me a tablet PC for my classes, and I couldn’t live without it anymore. But honestly, I’m not materialistic, I can get rid of things fast enough.
